The World Food Travel Association (WFTA) promotes food, drink & culinary cultures through travel. We serve as the central hub connecting key industry segments and partners with business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) relationships. We facilitate food and beverage discovery world-wide, including the creation, production and marketing of products from farm to fork. We accomplish our work through destination marketing organizations, industry trade associations, the media, universities and consumer food communities. The Association is a non-governmental organization and is registered in the US State of Oregon as a 501-c-3 non-profit educational institution.
Food tourism industry founder Erik Wolf created the original International Culinary Tourism Association in 2003 and has served as its Executive Director since then. The World Food Travel Association changed its name from International Culinary Tourism Association in 2012 to meet the changing needs of our industry. Over the years, the Association identified strong industry needs in food tourism education and research; food tourism product development; and food tourism promotion. The Association has been a leader in driving the advancement of our industry. The Association has also been instrumental in forging strategic partnerships with organizations that share similar goals, and by driving thought leadership at regional and international food and travel industry events.
